Laurie Marr Wasmund’s book, TO WALK HUMBLY, was a finalist for a 79th Annual Colorado Authors League Writing Award in Mainstream/Literary Fiction. The Colorado Authors League was founded as an organization of professional writers. Each spring since 1942, CAL recognizes multiple works across several different categories and genres and one author with a Lifetime Achievement Award. More than 90 CAL members submitted published works for consideration in this year's writing awards. TO WALK HUMBLY is the third book of Laurie Marr Wasmund’s White Winter Trilogy, which chronicles the lives of three Irish-Americans during the early 1920s in Denver, when the Ku Klux Klan governed the state of Colorado. Sarah Sommer’s first children’s picture book, The Goose on the Roof, was just awarded 1st prize in the 2020 Purple Dragonfly Book Awards (ebook- animals/pets).
