First Place CIPA EVVY winner, Beyond Flight or Fight: A Compassionate Guide for Working with Fearful Dogs, by CIPA member and humane educator/dog behaviorist Sunny Weber, was recently awarded the Dog Writers of America Association Certificate of Excellence in New York City.

The DWAA award has increased the book’s exposure to international dog rescue advocates and will help Sunny reach audiences specially focused on saving more dogs’ lives. Fearful dogs are the most commonly rejected and euthanized type of dog personality and yet, with increased knowledge and resources, many of them can be saved.

CIPA craftspeople assisted Sunny in all the areas of self-publishing that honed her book into a prize winning contribution to the animal welfare industry around the world.

Beyond Flight or Fight: A Compassionate Guide for Working with Fearful Dogs is available on Amazon. See Sunny’s website for more information on her work at www.sunnyweber.com.

Taylor Overbey writes and illustrates about childhood anger. In The Snit and George Franklin Whit, George was having a Snit so bad he became one! Follow George through his house as his anger boils out of control! This fully illustrated book is sure to delight while helping children learn how to verbalize their anger. By using ‘The Snit-O-Meter’ they can visually show their anger level, and create a dialogue to resolve the situation.
