CIPA Associate Members BookCrafters Publish Field Guide on Edible & Medicinal Plants

C9781937862930_cover_28.95_proof_final.inddIPA BookCrafters of Parker, Colorado, has published a remarkable new reference book by Mary O’Brien and Karen Vail of Steamboat Springs. Edible & Medicinal Plants of the Southern Rockies is a 276 page full color field guide to over 130 native and non-native plants from the foothills to the alpine of the Southern Rocky Mountain Region of the United States. It is written for the curious first-time forager as well as the more advanced harvester of edibles and medicinals. The authors have funded the publishing costs with a successful KickStarter campaign which reached its $3,500 funding goal within ten days of launch. The book is a wonderful example of the possibilities for self-publishers and will soon be available for worldwide distribution and will also be sold on the BookCrafters on-line store at https://bookcrafters.net/bookstore.

CIPA Member Maggie Pike Publishes New Book

Lighthearted, uplifting, and engaging, this collection of personal narratives and essays by
Maggie McCann Pike offers generous servings of reflection, wit, and opinion. The vignettes within describe the human spirit, at times with tenderness, more often with img_2890tongue planted firmly in cheek. The tale of the day two friends crashed a funeral, an anecdote of a child whose family moved away and forgot to tell her, and an awkward, nay mortifying, experience at a water park describe a few of the stories in A Chardonnay a Day: Vignettes That Bring Cheer. Imbibe them one a day or all at once, whatever brings you pleasure.

Autographed paperbacks are available here. Purchases through the website will include a free CD for pleasure reading, “All That Matters” by Timothy Pike. Also available at Amazon.com.
