How to Get on Radio Talk Shows All Across America without Leaving Your Home or Office How to Get the Job You Really Want and Get Employers to Call You

1.  What marketing steps do you take that are specific to your genre?

Step #1 I decide WHO my prospective buyers are ... ANY author/publisher who has a book to sell or a story to tell.

2.  What publicity steps do you take that are specific to your genre?

Step #1 Mail, email, fax to authors/publishers who have published or are nearly published.

3.   What problems have you encountered with your category of book that you have learned from?

NOT a problem, but rather a reminder. Every week that I mail/fax/email information OUT, the Cash Register Rings. Every week that I don't m/f/email the Cash Register DOESN'T RING.

4. Where are the best sales?

When I continue to serve the publishing and speaking associations that I've been involved with since 1980.

5.  Where are the worst sales?

Again, WHEN I DO NOTHING... NOTHING HAPPENS.

6.  What ideas do you have on book design?

Make it reader friendly. Go to bookstores and BUY books that you'd like you book to LOOK LIKE. Use these as examples when designing your book.

7.   What advice do you have for a publisher of How to books?

Kinda corny, but JUST DO IT. We started with a 60-page workbook, saddle stitched, and when sales justified it, we expanded this book to 104 pages, Perfect bound, with a 4-color cover. Again, JUST DO IT. Remember: You don't have to be good to start. You just have to start to be good.
